Another Sneak Peak -- Hexie Precuts

A little sneak peak into my latest magazine project.  Not telling which magazine or when it's out but shown are the prototype using moda hexagon precuts and my preference made from Moda Grunge fabrics.  I had to cut my own hexies but that was much faster and easier than I expected and the resulting look is more to my taste.  Sewing hexies is a little tedious but not difficult at all.  The options are limitless!!

New Frond Designs in Process

Working on some designs for some of the new Frond lines.  For those that do not know, Frond is Stephanie Brandenburg's new fabric company.  It has been up and running a year now and doing great:)  Thought I'd share my designing disaster areas with you ... show the process as it works its way to a new pattern.  Every few days I'll post a couple more pics.  So far there is a wall hanging and a rework of the Subway Tiles pattern.  And just a smidgen of an idea for a colorwash focused quilt.  As you can see I'm not too into being tidy as I go:)

My most recent T-shirt quilt made with Marcia Derse fabrics...my favorite so far:)  Lighting isn't so hot as I neglected to take pics before I delivered it.  Might have to steal it back for a photo shoot.

Goodsmiths

There is a new marketplace for handmade items.  It is based out of Des Moines and it shows promise of being great.  A friend of mine who worked for Meredith for 18+ years is on their staff so I get to hear bits and pieces of their plans.  Check it out!  It isn't nearly as big as Etsy but just wait...they are working hard to recruit quality artisans and to create a wonderful option for us to market our treasures.  Here is the link to my shop...barely opened and nothing yet that has not been seen on Etsy, but there will be over the next month (and no, I have not gotten to changing to my Etsy sale prices yet).  I will soon be adding a fabric shop there also.  I'm excited to see where this will go:)
